Four authors who have enchanted readers with their creative usage of words and amazing plots….

4. Rick Riordan

The writer of the legendry, mythical “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” and other mythological book series is Rick Riordan. He had his first breakthrough when he officially published “The Lightning Thief”, the first book of the Percy Jackson series. His books focus on modern-day teenagers in a Greco-Roman, Norse or Egyptian settings. He has, so far, written 35 novels and a set of companion novels for it. His writing is incredibly great and his narration is often hilarious. He writes his story in the way a teenager would have described the situation. He is a recipient of the Mark Twain Award, Shamus Award, Edgar Award and more.

3. Veronica Roth

A best-authors-of-the-modern-age list cannot miss out the famous, dystopian sci-fi writer Veronica Roth. Roth is best known for her New York Times bestselling “Divergent” trilogy. The trilogy is set in a futuristic setting of Chicago which has been enclosed by walls and the people are separated into five factions. This dystopian, sci-fi has surprised many as they thought it would be a “Hunger Games” wanna-be, however Roth’s totally different plot has many readers adoring her work. Her narration is through her main protagonist, Tris. She uses her imaginative style of writing to deliver the story in a unique way. She has also written the Shards and Ashes anthology, Carve the Mark duology, The End and Other Beginnings: Stories from the Future, Chosen Ones and three companion novels for the Divergent trilogy. She has received a number of awards for her works.

2. Cassandra Clare

Judith Lewis or best known as Cassandra Clare is the author of the notable Shadowhunter Chronicles which contains five series (including the planned “Wicked Powers” trilogy). Her urban-fantasy series have made people love her works world-wide. Her first novel “The City of Bones” brought her huge fame as her concept of the plot was entirely different than any other fantasy books. Her style of writing to convey her characters’ emotions is truly extraordinary. She has the ability to weave a story so enriching and fabulous. She has collaborated with other famous authors such as Holly Black, Sarah Rees Brennan, etc. Her “Last Hours” trilogy is yet to be complete and “The Wicked Powers” could presumably be published in 2022 or 2023. Her writing is enjoyed by many young-adult readers.

  1. Suzanne Collins

Last, but certainly not the least is Suzanne Collins. The author of the dystopian, sci-fi “Hunger Games” trilogy. The famous author ,genuinely, has a great mind which helps her deliver her story expertly. She, too wrote her “Hunger Games” trilogy through her main character Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl living in a harsh, futuristic nation of Panem. The story is told through Katniss’s view in an expressive and fantastic way. Collins’ way of bringing out her plot from her ideas to a story is great and loved by fans. She has also written another series, namely “The Underland Chronicles” and other stand-alone books. She has received numerous awards for her creative style of writing.
